Nico's 1st school picture

Okay, so I didn't want to bog everyone down with the last post and lots of videos and pictures...but sorry! Here is another one. This picture is Nico's first school picture. They come to the daycare and do it, so I thought why not? I couldn't resist the idea of him having a school picture before he was even one. I didn't even have to pose him. I just set him down and stood next to him and he just happened to look the opposite way he was sitting and smiled. And no, we don't have a scanner, so I had to tape it to a piece of paper and stand it up...oh well! You can at least get the jest of it. I was just way to excited to show it off!

The video is of him standing at the coffee table. Vito loves to let him hang on to the edge. Of course, all it does for me is keep me on edge! Now that he knows he has legs he likes to stand there and do little dances. So that's the update!

Lots of Stuff!

Wow, so much stuff has happened in the past month. It started with Vito and I having Strep right after Easter. That was a real treat. And not the good kind you find in the center of a Cadbury egg! Nico was sick...again. It's been once a month every month for the past SIX months!!! Then Nana came out for a visit. We made it to the zoo for Nico's first trip with cousin Sammi and Nana. We took the jogger with the pedometer on it and walked over 4 miles! Sammi was a superstar and walked the entire way without losing steam. Nico basically stayed in the stroller. He was fine when I took him out, but fussed when I had to put him back in, and that wasn't something I wanted to keep doing all day. But he loved watching all the trees and the people and other kids.

Vito and I took a short trip to Vegas. I was hoping to sleep the entire weekend, but I don't know what happened. It must have been all that oxygen they pump through the hotel. We didn't win big or lose big and the price was right for everything!

Then, we got a SURPRISE visit from our Armand clan. Uncle Cody came to town for some business and we were able to see Auntie Lili, Maya and Lola too! Of course the girls love being together, and Nico loves watching them at play, so we were able to get some cute pictures. Lisa and Crissy may have more on their blogs. Check them out. The ones here are of the 4 of them watching a movie together. Comedy all the way around.

AND, during all of this Nico was/has cut a bunch of teeth. There are 4 on the bottom and 1 on the top, with 2 more showing on the top. Actually, I think there is also another one showing on the bottom. For cutting that many at once he wasn't as difficult as I would have expected. But the most exciting thing that has happened is that he is no longer a Roller! He can crawl!!! It's only a few days new to him, but you can already see how excited he is that he has a new mode of getting around.

Stay tuned for another cute video and Nico's 1st school picture! Take care and miss you all!

Beach Baby!

Well this last week was fairly eventful for me. Auntie Leah made it in from the ATL.

And we were able to take Flat Stanley with us for some adventure shots for Cousin Maya's school project. We made it to Cousin Sammi's birthday party, where Nico hung out with the "Denim Mafia" (phrase courtesy of Uncle Ryan) - big thanks to Gigi, Auntie Susan and Auntie Gail for the help! During the week Leah helped me take back ALL of my returns. Why did I need help you ask? Because I had not only bags, but a couple of boxes too (yes, i said boxes - I gave up on EBay). Managed to get in almost all of my work hours, cleaned, went to Viejas, the bay AND relaxed.

So we wanted to take Nico to the bay and get some cute pictures of him. Well, at least pictures in a different setting besides my living room. And I must say, I had a "mommy moment". He couldn't have been any more excited to sit and play in the sand. It just kind of hit me how big he is...or how little he isn't. At the end of this video, right after I stopped recording, he was able to find a small piece of sea grass that made it halfway into his mouth...along with fingers full of sand. He just may be a water baby after all!

This week in Nicoland...

Lots going on. I have so many pictures I could put on this thing. Auntie Leah made it out, so we've been doing as much as we can with her. Nico is in love with her (just as much as with his other Aunties!). It's a constant stare-fest with him and her. They have been getting lots of playtime in. They managed to have another contest between the two of them - who can annoy Mama the quickest. Please see the following video.

Other new updates... We have been introducing new "big kid" foods to Nico. He has become really interested in what everyone is eating. So we try to give him small bits of this and that. We've tried bread, black olives, sweet potato puffs, yogurt, cottage cheese, pizza crust and toast. The toast is a MAJOR hit! So is the pizza crust. He has some new teeth coming in and I'm sure it helps him with that pain.

Here's some more pictures for the Grandparents
